CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC) celebrated a significant milestone in advanced patient care with a groundbreaking and ribbon cutting celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 1-3 p.m. at Doctors Regional, 3315 S. Alameda St. in Corpus Christi. The event, presented by the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, brought together community leaders, healthcare professionals, medical staff, emergency medical services and business partners.
“At Corpus Christi Medical Center, we show up by investing in the care our community needs when and where it matters most,” said David Irizarry, chief executive officer of CCMC. “These expansions and technology upgrades strengthened our ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care across our region.”
The celebration highlighted expanded facilities, advanced technology and workforce training that reinforced CCMC’s commitment to showing up for patients and the Coastal Bend community — today and into the future.
Key investments included:
• Expansion of ICU and CVICU capacity to 26 beds
• Upgraded cardiac catheterization lab with new interventional imaging
• MRI upgrade with advanced cardiac imaging capabilities
• New Cardiac CT with derived fractional flow reserve (FFR-CT)
• Lung nodule robotic surgical system supporting minimally invasive procedures
• New simulation training center to advance clinical education and readiness
